After a 2,000 mile move and a never-ending renovation, it was important for Scroll & Ink Bookbinding to re-establish its roots in creating high-quality, handmade books.
I produced this video to showcase the artistic process that goes into creating a one-of-a-kind book, from the selection of materials and the ethereal marbling process of captivating endsheets to the sewing that binds it all together.
Handling the finished product is a sensory experience of handmade quality. Closeup visuals of textures and colors is only half the means of communication that video offers, and that's why I captured precise audio of every action that contributed to the book's creation. Hearing the rustling of quality materials and the precision of handmade construction is just as evocative as seeing it.
